भारतातील पहिल्या महिला शिक्षिका सावित्रीबाई फुले (Savitribai Phule) यांना भारतीय स्त्रीवादाची जननी मानले जाते. आज (3 जानेवारी) त्यांच्या जयंतीच्या निमित्ताने त्यांच्या स्मृतींना स्मरून आदरांजली वाहिली जात आहे. देशातील अनेक राजकीय नेते आणि संस्था यांनी सावित्रीबाई फुले यांना आदरांजली वाहिली आहे. महाराष्ट्रामध्ये सावित्रीबाई फुले यांच्या जयंती निमित्त 'बालिका दिवस' (Balika Din 2024) साजरा केला जातो. या दिवशी महाराष्ट्रातील सर्व शाळांमध्ये अनेक कार्यक्रम आयोजित केले जातात.
