गुजरातच्या गरबा नृत्याचा समावेश युनेस्कोच्या मानवतेच्या अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक वारशाच्या यादीत करण्यात आला आहे.
Garba In UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritag: भारतासाठी एक अभिमानाची बाब समोर आली आहे. गुजरातच्या गरबा नृत्याचा समावेश युनेस्कोच्या मानवतेच्या अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक वारशाच्या यादीत करण्यात आला आहे. केंद्रीय मंत्री जी किशन रेड्डी यांनी ही माहिती दिली. ते म्हणाले की ही प्रतिष्ठित मान्यता मिळविणारा हा भारताचा 15 वा वारसा आहे. रेड्डी यांच्यामते गरबा उत्सव ही भौगोलिक सीमा ओलांडून भक्ती, लैंगिक समावेशकता आणि सामाजिक समतेचे प्रतीक असलेली परंपरा आहे.
ते पुढे म्हणाले, देशातील या 15 वारसांची ही यादी आपली समृद्ध संस्कृती, परंपरा आणि वारसा जगाला दाखवण्यासाठी माननीय पंतप्रधान श्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील या सरकारच्या अथक प्रयत्नांची साक्ष आहे. याआधी पश्चिम बंगालच्या दुर्गापूजेचा संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघाची सांस्कृतिक संस्था UNESCO ने मानवतेच्या अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक वारशाच्या प्रातिनिधिक यादीत समावेश करण्याची घोषणा केली होती. यासह आतापर्यंत युनेस्कोने भारतातील 38 स्मारकांना जागतिक वारसा दर्जा दिला आहे.
