Train Accident Death Toll: ओडिशा रेल्वे अपघातात आतापर्यंत 288 जणांचा मृत्यू, 747 जण जखमी
कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेसमध्ये सुमारे 1257 आरक्षित प्रवासी आणि यशवंतपूर एक्सप्रेसमध्ये 1039 आरक्षित प्रवासी होते.
ओडिशा रेल्वे अपघातातील मृतांची संख्या 288 वर पोहोचली आहे, तर 747 लोक जखमी झाले असून 56 जण गंभीर जखमी झाले आहेत. भारतीय रेल्वेने याबाबत माहिती दिली आहे. बहनगा बाजार स्थानकाजवळ कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेसला अपघात झाला. हा अपघात झाला तेव्हा स्टेशनवर थांबा नसल्याने ट्रेन पूर्ण वेगाने धावत होती. टक्कर इतकी जोरदार होती की त्यातील 21 डबे रुळावरून घसरले आणि 3 डबे दुसऱ्या मार्गावर पडले. यादरम्यान यशवंतपूर-हावडा एक्स्प्रेसही तेथून जात होती, त्यामुळे तिचीही धडक झाली. हावडा एक्स्प्रेसचे मागील दोन डबेही रुळावरून घसरले. कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेसमध्ये सुमारे 1257 आरक्षित प्रवासी आणि यशवंतपूर एक्सप्रेसमध्ये 1039 आरक्षित प्रवासी होते.
