बीसीसीआयने (BCCI) महिला आयपीएल अर्थात महिला प्रीमियर लीगच्या आयोजनाची (WPL) तयारी जवळपास पूर्ण केली आहे. खेळाडूंचा लिलाव झाला असून संघ तयार झाले आहेत. भारताची स्टार महिला खेळाडू स्मृती मांधना हिला RCB संघाने सर्वाधिक 3.4 कोटींना विकत घेतले. त्याचवेळी महिला प्रीमियर लीगशी संबंधित आणखी एक मोठी बातमी समोर आली आहे. इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) चे हक्क मिळविल्यानंतर, टाटा समूहाने मुंबईत 4 मार्चपासून सुरू होणाऱ्या पहिल्या महिला प्रीमियर लीग (WPL) चे शीर्षक हक्क देखील संपादन केले आहेत. भारतीय क्रिकेट नियामक मंडळाचे (बीसीसीआय) सचिव जय शाह यांनी ट्विट करून ही माहिती दिली. ते म्हणाले, “मला हे घोषित करताना अत्यंत आनंद होत आहे की टाटा समूह पहिल्या WPL चे शीर्षक प्रायोजक असेल. त्यांच्या पाठिंब्याने आम्ही महिला क्रिकेटला पुढील स्तरावर नेऊ शकतो, असा आम्हाला विश्वास आहे.
