तामिळनाडूच्या (Tamil Nadu) विल्लुपुरम (Villupuram) आणि चेंगलपट्टू जिल्ह्यात (Chengalpattu) बनावट दारू (Spurious Liquor) प्यायल्याने मृत पावलेल्यांच्या संख्येत आणखी वाढ झाली आहे. या घटनेत आतापर्यंत 12 जणांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. तीन महिलांसह 12 जणांचा मृत्यू झाल्याची धक्कादायक घटना समोर आली आहे. मृतांमध्ये विल्लुपुरम जिल्ह्यातील मारक्कनमजवळील एकिरकुप्पम येथील रहिवासी असलेल्या सहा जणांचा समावेश आहे. उलट्या, डोळ्यात जळजळ आणि चक्कर आल्याच्या तक्रारींनंतर मारक्कनमजवळील विल्लुपुरम जिल्ह्यातील एक्कीयरकुप्पम गावात सहा जणांना रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. त्यातील चौघांचा मृत्यू झाला.
