कासगंज येथे एका जाहीर सभेला संबोधित करताना केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शहा म्हणाले, "राहुल गांधी मागासवर्गीयांच्या नावाने खोटे बोलत आहेत. ते म्हणतात की, भाजपने 400 जागा जिंकल्या तर भाजप देशातील आरक्षण हटवेल. ते काही होणार नाही. आरक्षण हटवण्यासाठी आमच्याकडे पूर्ण बहुमताने दोन टर्म होते, पण नरेंद्र मोदी आरक्षणाचे समर्थक आहेत. आज मी तुम्हाला मोदी हमी देतो की एससी, एसटी, ओबीसी आरक्षण हटवणार नाही. किंवा आम्ही इतर कोणालाही ते करू देणार नाही."
