अॅप्पल वॉचच्या सीरीज 8 (apple watch series 8 ) मध्ये असलेल्या क्रेश डिटेक्शन फीचरमुळे (crash detection feature) जर्मनीत (Germany) एका 20 मीटर खोल दरीत कोसळलेल्या गाडीतील 3 जणांचे प्राण वाचवण्यात यश आले आहे. मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार गाडीचा हायवेवरुन जाताना हा अपघात झाला आणि तिघेही गाडीत अडकले होते. पंरतू या अपघाताचे कोणीही साक्षीदार नव्हते. अॅप्पल वॉचच्या सीरीज 8 ने स्वंयचलितपणे दुर्घटनेची माहिती अपघात झालेल्या व्यक्तीच्या परिजनांना दिली. त्यानंतर पोलीस दल आणि बचाव दल घटनास्थळी दाखल झाले.
