फिफा विश्वचषक 2022 चा अंतिम सामना कतारमधील लुसेल स्टेडियमवर रविवारी फ्रान्स आणि अर्जेंटिना यांच्यात झाला. दोन्ही संघांमधील सामन्यात अर्जेंटिना अंतिम फेरीत विजय मिळवून विश्वविजेता ठरला. पेनल्टी शूट-आऊटमध्ये 4-2 असा विजय मिळवून अर्जेंटिनाने विश्वविजेतेपदावर नाव कोरले. अशाप्रकारे 36 वर्षांची प्रतीक्षा संपली आणि मेस्सीचे स्वप्न पूर्ण झाले. या सामन्याद्वारे अर्जेंटिना तिसऱ्यांदा विश्वविजेता ठरला आहे. सध्या विजेत्या संघावर जगभरातून अभिनंदनाचा वर्षाव होत आहे. भारताचे पंतप्रधान नरेंद मोदी यांनीही ट्वीट करत अर्जेंटिना संघाचे अभिनंदन केले आहे.
नरेंद्र मोदी म्हणतात, ‘हा सर्वात थरारक फुटबॉल सामना म्हणून लक्षात राहील. फिफा विश्वचषक चॅम्पियन बनल्याबद्दल अर्जेंटिनाचे अभिनंद. त्यांनी या स्पर्धेत शानदार खेळ केला आहे. अर्जेंटिना आणि मेस्सीच्या लाखो भारतीय चाहत्यांना शानदार विजयाचा आनंद आहे.’ यावेळी त्यांनी फ्रांसच्या संघाचेही अभिनंदन केले आहे.
