भारताची स्टार बॅडमिंटन जोडी सात्विकसाईराज रँकीरेड्डी-चिराग शेट्टी यांनी आशियाई क्रीडा स्पर्धेत पुरुष दुहेरीत सुवर्णपदक जिंकले आहे. त्यांनी दक्षिण कोरियाच्या चोई सोई ग्यु आणि किम वोन हो यांचा 21-18, 21-16 असा पराभव करून सुवर्णपदक जिंकले. भारताने प्रथमच बॅडमिंटनमध्ये सुवर्णपदक पटकावले आहे. सात्विक-चिरागच्या आधी भारतासाठी आशियाई क्रीडा स्पर्धेत बॅडमिंटनमध्ये कोणीही सुवर्णपदक जिंकले नव्हते. यावेळची आशियाई स्पर्धा भारतीय पुरुष बॅडमिंटनसाठी उत्तम ठरली आहे. हांगझू येथे सुरू असलेल्या खेळांमध्ये पुरुषांच्या सांघिक प्रकारात भारताने रौप्यपदक पटकावले होते. तसेच एचएस प्रणॉयला कांस्यपदक मिळाले.
