गुरुवारी कोविड-19 जीनोमिक सर्व्हिलन्स प्रोग्राममधून हे उघड झाले
कोरोना व्हायरसच्या ओमिक्रॉन प्रकाराच्या BA.4 उप प्रकाराने भारतात प्रवेश केला आहे. देशातील या व्हेरिएंटची पहिली केस हैदराबादमध्ये आढळून आली आहे. गुरुवारी कोविड-19 जीनोमिक सर्व्हिलन्स प्रोग्राममधून हे उघड झाले. भारतीय SARS-CoV-2 Consortium on Genomics (INSACOG) शी संबंधित शास्त्रज्ञांनी सांगितले की, भारताकडून BA.4 उप प्रकाराचे तपशील 9 मे रोजी GISAID वर प्रविष्ट केले गेले. SARS CoV 2 विषाणूचा हा स्ट्रेन दक्षिण आफ्रिकेतील नवीन कोरोना व्हायरस संसर्गाच्या मोठ्या लाटेसाठी जबाबदार आहे. हा प्रकार लसीकरणाद्वारे प्रदान केलेल्या रोगप्रतिकारक शक्तीवरदेखील परिणाम करण्यास सक्षम आहे.
