Uttarakhand To Implement Uniform Civil Code: उत्तराखंडचे मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील सरकारने सादर केलेले समान नागरी संहिता (UCC) विधेयक सभागृहात मंजूर करण्यात आले. उत्तराखंड विधानसभेत यूसीसी विधेयक मंजूर झाल्यानंतर, उत्तराखंड समान नागरी संहिता लागू करणारे देशातील पहिले राज्य बनले आहे. भाजपच्या सर्व आमदारांनी आवाजी मतदानाने यूसीसी विधेयक मंजूर केले. हा प्रस्ताव 80 टक्के संमतीने मंजूर करण्यात आला. त्यानंतर सर्व सदस्यांनी सभागृहात जय श्री रामचा जयघोष केला. या विधेयकात केवळ विवाह, घटस्फोट, वारसा आणि दत्तक या विषयांचा समावेश आहे. या विषयांवर केलेल्या तरतुदींमध्ये, विशेषत: विवाह प्रक्रियेत, जात, धर्म किंवा पंथाच्या परंपरा आणि चालीरीतींशी छेडछाड केलेली नाही. या विधेयकातील तरतुदीनुसार, मालमत्तेत मुलगा आणि मुलगी यांना समान अधिकार देण्यात आले आहेत आणि लिव्ह-इन रिलेशनशिपमध्ये जन्मलेल्या मुलांनाही मालमत्तेचा हक्क देण्यात आला आहे. अनुसूचित जमाती समाजातील लोकांना यूसीसी लागू होणार नाही.
