इस्त्रो चे माजी चेअरमन डॉ.के कस्तुरीरंगन यांचे बेंगळूरू मध्ये निधन झाले आहे. ते 84 वर्षांचे होते. 9 वर्ष त्यांनी इस्त्रो चं नेतृत्त्व केले आहे.डॉ. कस्तुरीरंगन यांनी ऑगस्ट 2003 मध्ये निवृत्त होईपर्यंत अंतराळ आयोगाचे अध्यक्ष आणि अंतराळ विभागाचे सचिव म्हणूनही काम करत होते. जुलै 2023 मध्ये, श्रीलंकेला भेट देत असताना त्यांना हृदयविकाराचा झटका आला आणि त्यांना उपचारांसाठी विमानाने बेंगळुरूला नेण्यात आले. भारत सरकारने त्यांना पद्मविभूषण पुरस्काराने गौरवलेले होते.
