छत्तीसगडमध्ये विधानसभा निवडणुकीपूर्वी नारायणपूर जिल्ह्यात शनिवारी नक्षलवाद्यांनी भाजप नेते रतन दुबे यांची कुऱ्हाडीने वार करून हत्या केली. भाजप नेते रतन दुबे यांच्या हत्येबाबत, बस्तर रेंजचे आयजी सुंदरराज पी. म्हणाले, "आज छत्तीसगडमधील दहशतवादग्रस्त नारायणपूर जिल्ह्यात भाजपच्या एका नेत्याची (रतन दुबे) हत्या करण्यात आली. नक्षलवाद्यांच्या सहभागाबाबत विचारले असता, आयजी म्हणाले की एक टीम. घटनास्थळी पाठवण्यात आले असून तपासानंतर या संदर्भात काहीही स्पष्ट होईल". छत्तीसगडमध्ये 7 आणि 17 नोव्हेंबर रोजी दोन टप्प्यात मतदान होणार असून 3 डिसेंबरला मतमोजणी होणार आहे.
