ब्रिटनची महाराणीने एलिझाबेथ द्वितीयने (Elizabeth II) गुरुवारी बकिंघम पॅलेस (Buckingham Palace) येथे एका अनोख्या समारंभात बर्मिंघम राष्ट्रकुल 2022 च्या क्वीन्स बॅटन रिलेचे (Queen's Baton Relay) अधिकृतपणे उद्घाटन केले. क्वीन्स बॅटन आता कॉमनवेल्थच्या (Commonwealth) सर्व 72 राष्ट्र आणि प्रदेशांत 294 दिवसांच्या दौऱ्यावर जाईल व 140,000 किलोमीटरचा प्रवास करेल जी 28 जुलै 2022 रोजी बर्मिंघम 2022 राष्ट्रकुल क्रीडा (Commonwealth Games) स्पर्धेच्या उद्घाटन समारंभात जागतिक प्रवासाची सांगता होईल.
