बर्मिंगहॅम कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स 2022 ची सुरुवात गुरुवारी 28 जुलै रोजी रंगतदार उद्घाटन समारंभाने झाली. दर चार वर्षांनी होणाऱ्या या खेळांमध्ये भारतही ठळकपणे सहभागी होतो. यावेळीही भारतातील अनेक खेळाडू या गेम्समध्ये सहभागी होण्यासाठी बर्मिंगहॅमला पोहोचले आहेत. खेळ सुरू होण्यापूर्वी बर्मिंगहॅम स्पोर्ट्स व्हिलेजमध्ये एका महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते, ज्यामध्ये भारताची शान आणि त्याची ओळख, तिरंगा ध्वज फडकवण्यात आला होता. यावेळी काही नामवंत खेळाडूंनीही सहभाग घेतला.
