भारताच्या 19 वर्षीय प्रथमेश समाधान जावकरने (Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar) देशाचे नाव उंचावले आहे. प्रथमेश समाधान जावकरने शांघाय येथे तिरंदाजी विश्वचषक (Archery World Cup) स्टेज 2 मध्ये जागतिक क्रमवारीत अव्वल स्थानावर असलेल्या माइक श्लोसरचा (149-148) पराभव करून पुरुषांच्या वैयक्तिक कंपाऊंडमध्ये सुवर्णपदक जिंकले. जागतिक क्रमवारीत 54व्या स्थानावर असलेल्या प्रथमेश जावकरने अंतिम फेरीत श्लोसरविरुद्ध आपली सर्वोत्तम कामगिरी केली. या तरुणाने फायनलमध्ये 9 ने सुरुवात केली, पण जेतेपदाच्या सामन्यात केंद्राबाहेरून मारलेला तो एकमेव शॉट होता. गेल्या महिन्यात, त्याने उपांत्यपूर्व फेरी गाठली आणि तिरंदाजी विश्वचषक अंतल्या स्टेज I मध्ये सातवे स्थान मिळविले.
