Marathi vs Bhojpuri Song Dispute in Mira Road: मीरा रोड येथे नवीन वर्षाच्या उत्सवाला हिंसक वळण लागल्याची घटना घडली. मराठी-भोजपुरी गाणी वाजवण्यावरून झालेल्या भांडणात 23 वर्षीय तरुणाचा मृत्यू झाला आणि दुसरा गंभीर जखमी झाला. 1 जानेवारी रोजी पहाटे 3 च्या सुमारास गृहसंकुलात ही घटना घडली, एका पार्टीदरम्यान एका गटाला मराठी गाणी हवी होती, तर दुसऱ्या गटाने भोजपुरी गाण्यांचा आग्रह होता. राजा परियार (23) यांनी गाण्याची विनंती नाकारल्याने हा वाद वाढला. ज्यामुळे आशिष जाधव, अमित जाधव, त्यांचे वडील प्रकाश जाधव आणि शेजारी प्रमोद यादव यांनी लोखंडी रॉड आणि लाकडी दांडक्याने क्रूर हल्ला केला. हल्ल्यात परियार याचा मृत्यू झाला. तर त्याचा मित्र विपुल राय (25) गंभीर जखमी आहे. खून आणि मारहाणीच्या आरोपाखाली काशिमीरा पोलिसांनी आरोपीला अटक केली आहे.
