अरुणाचल प्रदेशात शुक्रवारी, 28 ऑक्टोबर रोजी मोठ्या भूस्खलनामुळे आसाममधील सुबनसिरी जलविद्युत प्रकल्पाच्या कामकाजात व्यत्यय आला. एका व्हायरल व्हिडिओमध्ये धरणातून खाली कोसळलेल्या डोंगराचे तुकडे, सुबनसिरी नदीतील वळवण्याच्या बोगद्यात अडथळा आणत आहे आणि पाण्याच्या प्रवाहात लक्षणीय घट झाली आहे. सुबनसिरी हायड्रो-इलेक्ट्रिक पॉवर प्रकल्प नॅशनल हायड्रो इलेक्ट्रिक पॉवर कॉर्पोरेशन (NHPC) द्वारे चालवला जातो. "हा एकमेव डायव्हर्शन बोगदा होता जो प्रवेश करण्यायोग्य होता कारण इतर चार भूस्खलनाने आधीच ब्लॉक झालेत", असे अधिकाऱ्यांनी सांगितले.
