सर्वाधिक लोकसंख्या असलेल्या चीनमधील शांघाय शहराने मंगळवारी दोन टप्प्यातील कोविड-19 च्या पहिल्या टप्याचे लॉकडाऊन कडक केले आहे, काही रहिवाशांना त्यांची चाचणी होत नाही तोपर्यंत घरातच राहण्याचे आवाहन करण्येयात येत आहे. सध्या दैनंदिन कोरोना प्रकरणांची संख्या 4,400 च्या पुढे जाऊन पोहोचली आहे. पुडोंग जिल्ह्यात सर्व रहिवासी, अनेक उच्चभ्रू वित्तीय संस्था आणि शांघाय स्टॉक एक्स्चेंजचे निवासस्थान आहे, त्यामुळे त्यांना त्यांच्या घरातच राहण्याचे आवाहन करण्यात येत आहे आणि त्यांना फक्त कोविड चाचणी घेण्यासाठी घरातून बाहेर पडण्याची परवानगी दिली जाणार आहे.
