ऑस्ट्रेलिया मधील  Canberra हे मोफत गर्भपात करण्यास मंजुरी देणारं पहिलं अधिकारक्षेत्र   ठरलं आहे. आज गुरुवार 20 एप्रिलपासून, ऑस्ट्रेलियन सरकार कॅनबेरामध्ये नऊ आठवड्यांपर्यंतच्या गर्भवती महिलांसाठी वैद्यकीय गर्भपात आणि 16 आठवड्यांपर्यंतच्या गर्भधारणेसाठी शस्त्रक्रिया करून गर्भपात करण्यासाठी पूर्णपणे अनुदान देणार आहे.
