Contempt of Court चा ठपका ठेवत आज घोटाळेबाज व्यावसायिक Vijay Mallya ला भारताच्या सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाकडून 4 महिने जेल आणि 2000 रूपये आर्थिक दंडाची शिक्षा सुनावली आहे. 2017 साली सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने मल्ल्याला न्यायालयाच्या आदेशाचे उल्लंघन करून 40 दशलक्ष डॉलर्स त्याच्या मुलांना हस्तांतरित करण्याबद्दल न्यायालयात माहिती न दिल्याबद्दल न्यायालयाचा अवमान केल्याबद्दल दोषी ठरवले होते. सुप्रीम कोर्टाने मल्ल्याला चार आठवड्यांच्या आत व्याजासह USD 40 दशलक्ष परत जमा करण्यास सांगितले आणि जर तो तसे करण्यात अपयशी ठरला तर मालमत्ता जप्त केली जाईल.
