'प्राडा' या इटालियन कंपनीच्या रॅम्प वर 'कोल्हापुरी' सारखी चप्पल दिसल्यानंतर सुरु झालेल्या राड्यानंतर अखेर इटालियन ब्रॅन्डचं एक शिष्टमंडळ कोल्हापूरात दाखल झाले. त्यांनी कोल्हापुरी बनवणार्या कारागिरांची भेट घेत त्याचे तपशील आणि इतिहास जाणून घेतला. भारतीय कारागिरांना सन्मान देण्याचे प्राडाने मान्य केले आहे. कोल्हापुरी चप्पल बनवण्याचा 800 वर्ष हा जुना व्यवसाय त्यांनी जाणून घेतला आहे. दरम्यान कोल्हापुरीला GI-tag असतानाही असा सांस्कृतिक अपहार कसा होऊ शकतो? यावरून कारागिरांसह सामान्य लोकांनीही आक्षेप नोंदवला होता.
