लोकसभा निवडणुका सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या देखरेखीखाली घ्याव्यात, अशी मागणी तृणमूल काँग्रेसचे ज्येष्ठ नेते डेरेक ओब्रायन यांनी केली आहे. ते म्हणाले की, भाजप लोकशाही संस्था नष्ट करण्याचा प्रयत्न करत आहे. डेरेक ओब्रायन यांनी निवडणूक आयोगावरही गंभीर प्रश्न उपस्थित केले आहेत.मंगळवारी डेरेक ओब्रायन यांनी सोशल मीडियावर एक पोस्ट करत आरोप केले आहेत. या पोस्टमध्ये डेरेक ओब्रायन यांनी लिहिले आहे की, 'भाजप चुकिच्या मार्गाने भारतातील निवडणूक आयोगासारख्या संस्था नष्ट करत आहे. भाजपला जनतेला सामोरे जाण्याची भीती वाटते आणि म्हणूनच त्यांनी विरोधकांना लक्ष्य करण्यासाठी निवडणूक आयोगाचे पक्ष कार्यालयात रूपांतर केले आहे? त्यात त्यांनी अधिकाऱ्यांच्या नुकत्याच झालेल्या बदलीचाही उल्लेख केला.
