New Army Chief: लेफ्टनंट जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी भारताचे पुढील लष्करप्रमुख; 30 जून रोजी स्वीकारणार पदभार

लेफ्टनंट जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी, जे सध्या लष्कराचे उपप्रमुख म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत, ते पुढील लष्करप्रमुख असणार आहे. विद्यमान लष्करप्रमुख, जनरल मनोज सी पांडे यांनी 30 जून 2024 रोजी निवृत्त होणार आहे.  1 जुलै 1964 रोजी जन्मलेले द्विवेदी 15 डिसेंबर 1984 रोजी भारतीय लष्कराच्या पायदळ (जम्मू आणि काश्मीर रायफल्स) मध्ये नियुक्त झाले होते. त्यांच्या सुमारे 40 वर्षांच्या प्रदीर्घ आणि प्रतिष्ठित सेवेत त्यांनी विविध कमांड, स्टाफमध्ये काम केले आहे.
