महाराष्ट्रात 55% कोविड 19 नमुन्यांच्या Genome Sequencing मध्ये Omicron Variant आढळल्याने आता जिनोम सिक्वेंसिंग थांबवण्याचा महाराष्ट्र आरोग्य विभागाने निर्णय घेतला आहे. दरम्यान आता आठवडाभरामध्ये सेरोसर्व्हे केला जाऊ शकतो असा देखील अंदाज आहे. भारतात महराष्ट्रातील ओमिक्रॉन बाधितांची संख्या सर्वाधिक 797 आहे. त्यापैकी 330 जणांना डिस्चार्ज देखील देण्यात आला आहे.
