भारताच्या बिंदयाराणी देवीने वेटलिफ्टिंगमध्ये महिलांच्या 55 किलो गटात रौप्य पदक जिंकून या राष्ट्रकुल क्रीडा स्पर्धेत भारताच्या पदकांची संख्या चारवर नेली. मीराबाई चानूने सुवर्णपदक जिंकल्यानंतर, 23 वर्षीय बिंद्याराणीने स्नॅच प्रकारात 86 किलो वजन उचलून सर्वोत्तम कामगिरी केल्यानंतर क्लीन अँड जर्कमध्ये 116 किलो वजन उचलून विक्रम मोडला. राष्ट्रपती द्रौपदी मुर्मू आणि पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी रौप्य पदक जिंकल्याबद्दल बिंद्याराणीचे अभिनंदन केले.
