गोवा मुक्ति दिवस निमित्त CM Pramod Sawant यांनी ध्वजवंदन केलं आहे. आज गोवा मुक्ति दिवसाची 62 वी अॅनिव्हर्सरी आहे. भारताच्या स्वातंत्र्यानंतरही गोवा पोर्तुगीजांच्या ताब्यात राहिला. देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्यानंतर 14 वर्षांनी गोवा भारताने चालवलेल्या ऑपरेशन विजयच्या माध्यमातून पोर्तुगीजांच्या तावडीतून मुक्त झाला. गोवा स्वतंत्र झाला आणि १९ डिसेंबर १९६१ रोजी भारतात सामील झाला.
