भाजपच्या आय-टी विभागाचे प्रमुख अमित मालवीय यांनी त्यांच्या ट्विटर पोस्टमध्ये दावा केला आहे की सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने पश्चिम बंगालमधील 'द केरळ स्टोरी' वरील बंदी उठवल्यानंतरही राज्याची राजधानी कोलकातामधील एकाही थिएटरमध्ये चित्रपट प्रदर्शित होत नाही. स्थानिक प्रशासनाकडून थिएटर मालकांना 'दंडात्मक कारवाई'ची धमकी दिली जात असल्याचा दावा अमित मालवीय यांनी केला.
