केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शहा यांनी शुक्रवारी गांधीनगर मतदारसंघातून उमेदवारी अर्ज दाखल केला. उमेदवारी अर्ज दाखल केल्यानंतर अमित शाह म्हणाले की, या जागेचे प्रतिनिधित्व लालकृष्ण अडवाणी, अटलजी यांनी केले आणि ज्या जागेवरून नरेंद्र मोदी स्वत: मतदार आहेत, ही माझ्यासाठी अभिमानाची बाब आहे. मी 30 वर्षे या जागेचा आमदार आणि खासदार आहे. या भागातील जनतेने मला भरभरून प्रेम दिले आहे.
