भारतामध्ये काल संध्याकाळी छठ पूजा झाल्यानंतर आज (20 नोव्हेंबर) पहाटे उगवत्या सूर्याला अर्ध्य अर्पण करण्यात आले आहे. देशभर महिलांनी अर्ध्य अर्पण करण्यासाठी पाणवठ्याच्या ठिकाणी गर्दी केली होती. मुंबई मध्येही जुहू चौपाटीवर महिला अर्ध्य देण्यासाठी आल्या होत्या. काही ठिकाणी कृत्रिम तलावं बनवून अर्ध्य देण्यात आली. यावेळी महत्त्वाच्या ठिकाणी पोलिसांचा देखील चोख बंदोबस्त बघायला मिळाला आहे.
