भारताच्या 29 वर्षीय भालाफेकपटू अन्नू राणीने (Annu Rani) CWG च्या इतिहासात महिलांच्या भालाफेकमध्ये भारताला पहिले पदक मिळवून देऊन इतिहास रचला. अन्नूने CWG 2022 मध्ये 60 मीटरच्या सर्वोत्तम थ्रोसह कांस्यपदक जिंकले. दरम्यान, आणखी एक भारतीय भालाफेकपटू शिल्पा राणीने या स्पर्धेत सातवे स्थान पटकावले. राणीने 55.61 मीटरचा पहिला थ्रो नोंदवल्यामुळे सुरुवातीला या स्पर्धेत मागे राहिली. इतर दोन थ्रो अपात्र ठरले. चौथ्या प्रयत्नात राणीने जबरदस्त थ्रो मारत थेट चौथ्या स्थानावर झेप घेतली.
