पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी मंगळवार, 12 मे दिवशी पंजाबच्या आदमपूर हवाई तळाला अचानक भेट देऊन 22 एप्रिल रोजी पहलगाम दहशतवादी हल्ल्यात 26 नागरिकांच्या हत्येचा बदला घेण्यासाठी सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या ऑपरेशन सिंदूरमध्ये सहभागी असलेल्या भारतीय हवाई दलाच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांची भेट घेतली. यावेळी त्यांनी सैन्यदलातील जवानांना सलाम केला. या भेटीतील एक फोटो व्हायरल झाला आहे, ज्यामध्ये पंतप्रधान मोदींच्या मागे रशियन बनावटीच्या S-400 air defence system प्रमुखपणे दिसत आहेत. पंतप्रधानांनी हवाई दल तळाला भेट देताना काही फोटो देखील शेअर केले आहेत. हवाई संरक्षण क्षेपणास्त्र प्रणालीचा हा सार्वजनिकरित्या प्रसिद्ध झालेला पहिला फोटो असू शकतो. या फोटोला विशेष महत्त्व आहे कारण ते पाकिस्तानच्या पूर्वीच्या दाव्याच्या थेट विरोधात आहे. त्यांच्या जेएफ-१७ लढाऊ विमानाने अलिकडच्या चार दिवसांच्या लष्करी संघर्षादरम्यान एस-४०० प्रणाली नष्ट केल्याचं म्हटलं होतं.
