कर्नाटक काँग्रेसचे प्रमुख डीके शिवकुमार यांना घेऊन जाणाऱ्या हेलिकॉप्टरला पक्ष्याचा धक्का लागल्याने बंगळुरूच्या एचएएल विमानतळावर आपत्कालीन लँडिंग करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, हेलिकॉप्टरने रात्री 12 वाजता जक्कूर येथून उड्डाण केले आणि ते कोलारजवळील मुलबागीलूकडे जात होते. एचएएल विमानतळापासून 40 किमी अंतरावर होस्कोटेजवळ मध्य-हवेत गरुडाची हेलिकॉप्टरशी टक्कर झाली आणि हेलिकॉप्टरची विंडशील्ड तुटली.
