महागाई आणि बेरोजगारीविरोधात काँग्रेसने देशव्यापी आंदोलनाची घोषणा केली आहे. 5 ऑगस्टला काँग्रेस पंतप्रधानांच्या घराला घेराव घालण्र आहे. घेरावाआधी काँग्रेस संसदेपासून राष्ट्रपती भवनापर्यंत मोर्चाही काढणार आहे. त्याच दिवशी राज्यांमध्ये निदर्शनेही केली जाणार आहेत. काँग्रेसने मोठ्या प्रमाणात निदर्शने आणि सामूहिक अटकेची हाक दिली आहे. काँग्रेसने आपले खासदार, आमदार यासह गावात आणि छोट्या शहरात काम करणाऱ्या कार्यकर्त्यांनाही या आंदोलनात सहभागी होण्यास सांगितले आहे.
