पाच राज्यातील निवडून निकालाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर मुख्य निवडणूक आयुक्त सुशील चंद्रा म्हणाले की, एक राष्ट्र एक निवडणूक हा एक चांगला प्रस्ताव आहे पण त्यासाठी राज्यघटनेत बदल करण्याची गरज आहे. चंद्रा म्हणाले, “निवडणूक आयोग पूर्णपणे सज्ज असून सर्व निवडणुका एकाच वेळी घेण्यास सक्षम आहे. पाच वर्षांतून एकदाच निवडणुका घेण्याची आमची तयारी आहे.”
