जागतिक क्रमवारीत नंबर 1 तिरंदाजी दीपिका कुमारीने थरारक शूट-आऊटमध्ये रशियाच्या ऑलिम्पिक समितीच्या माजी विश्वविजेत्या केसेनिया पेरोवाचा पराभव करून टोकियो ऑलिम्पिक महिला एकेरीच्या उपांत्यपूर्व फेरीत प्रवेश केला. पाच सेटनंतर दोघींचे 5-5 अशी बरोबरीत होते. दीपिकावर दडपण होते आणि शूट-ऑफमध्ये परफेक्ट 10 मारत तिने रिओ ऑलिम्पिक रौप्यपदक विजेतीला परतीचा रस्ता दाखवला.
