महात्मा गांधी यांची पणती निलमबेन पारीख यांचे 92 व्या वर्षी गुजरात मधील नवसारी येथे निधन झाले आहे.
महात्मा गांधी आणि त्यांचे मुलगा हरिलाल यांच्यासोबत असलेले गुंतागुंतीचे संबंध यावर आधारित एक पुस्तक नीलमबेन यांनी लिहलं होतं. दरम्यान हरिलाल हे नीलमबेन यांचे आजोबा होते. निलंबेन यांनी त्यांचे संपूर्ण आयुष्य दक्षिणापथमध्ये घालवले. Dakshinapatha ही संस्था आदिवासी महिलांच्या उन्नतीसाठी स्थापन केली होती, त्यांना शिक्षण देऊन आणि आर्थिक स्वातंत्र्य मिळवण्यासाठी व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण देते.
