उस्मानाबाद शहराचे नाव बदलून धाराशिव करण्यास, तर औरंगाबादचे छत्रपती संभाजीनगर असे नामांतर करण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने मंजुरी दिली.
आज देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी सोशल मिडियाद्वारे माहिती दिली की, उस्मानाबाद शहराचे नाव बदलून धाराशिव करण्यास, तर औरंगाबादचे छत्रपती संभाजीनगर असे नामांतर करण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने मंजुरी दिली. गेले अनेक वर्षे या दोन्ही शहरांचे नामांतर करण्याबाबत चर्चा होती.
आता यावर खासदार इम्तियाज जलील यांची प्रतिक्रिया समोर आली आहे. त्यांनी या निर्णयाला विरोध केला आहे. ते म्हणतात, 'औरंगाबाद आमचे शहर आहे, होते आणि राहील. आता औरंगाबादसाठी आमच्या शक्ती प्रदर्शनाची वाट पहा. आपल्या लाडक्या शहरासाठी आम्ही भव्य मोर्चा काढत आहोत. आमच्या शहराच्या नावावर राजकारण करणाऱ्या भाजपच्या शक्तींचा पराभव करण्यासाठी औरंगाबादवासियांनो सज्ज व्हा. या नामांतराचा आम्ही निषेध करतो आणि आम्ही लढू.'
